Grant Criteria

Our grants assist families who are faced with pediatric cancer (18 or younger) and are struggling to make ends meet. The Board of Directors has determined that the core purpose of the Foundation is to provide comprehensive support to each family we serve, as opposed to smaller grant amounts to a larger number of families.

Applications are provided by invitation-only through the social workers of our partnering hospitals. Our goal is to serve the entire family by eliminating the financial burdens of a tragic illness so that families can focus on the care of their child and each other. TRF granting policy does not allow for payment of medical and/or hospital bills.

Here’s an outline of our criteria for grant eligibility:

Child is 0-18 years of age & has been diagnosed with cancer and is not currently in remission.

Family demonstrates a financial need as a result of this diagnosis.

Household has at least 1 working adult with an annual housing expense to income ratio of 28% or below. (Example: A household earning $75K is paying no more than $21K total per year on mortgage or rent)

Family lives above federal poverty level.

Child Is insured and/or has access to medical cost coverage. (TRF does not cover medical expenses.)

Family does not receive significant financial support from other grant-making organizations, crowdfunding, etc.
